An independent survey from the Australian Financial Review recently ranked CSL among the best places to work in Australia and New Zealand and placed the company fourth among health industry employers.
CSL, with 27,000 employees worldwide, competed against 750 organizations nominated in various sectors. More than 350 CSL employees completed a survey about the company’s policies, practices, and programs and how well they support an employee’s ability to perform at their best.
The ranking recognizes CSL’s achievements and practices, including Promising Futures, the Wellness Days initiative, agile working arrangements, health and well-being activities and professional development opportunities such as Global Development Days.
“This is a proud moment for the CSL workforce - all of whom strive to bring their best selves to work every single day,” said Yvette Saunders, Executive Director, Global Human Resources for CSL. “Our values and the policies we have in place provide important guidance to our team and set the tone for good decision making. But ultimately, it’s our people who model our values and ensure that we work in a culture where everyone’s contributions are valued.”
In more than 100 countries, CSL medicines contribute to better health and save lives. The company, which got its start in Australia 106 years ago, specializes in serious and rare diseases as well as influenza prevention. CSL, driven by its promise to patients and to protect public health, has locations around the world and spends more than $1 billion per year on research and development.
In March, CSL was named to Forbes list of America’s Best Large Employers. Its U.S. sites include CSL Behring’s operational headquarters in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania; manufacturing facilities in Kankakee, Illinois, and Holly Springs, North Carolina; and more than 300 plasma collection centers in 43 states.
