People who live with sickle cell disease cope with a debilitating condition that alters the course of their lives. September is Sickle Cell Disease Awareness Month in the United States, a time to raise awareness about the need for patient-focused research and innovation.
Researchers at CSL are investigating potential new treatments for the condition and, earlier this year, CSL joined the Sickle Cell Disease Partnership to champion policy changes that will benefit patients. The partnership created the infographic below and shared these upcoming events:
California nonprofit Cayenne Wellness Center and Children’s Foundation will hold its 15th Annual Sickle Cell Disease Educational Summit September 13-16.
The National Institutes of Health’s Heart, Lung and Blood Institute is offering Sickle Cell In Focus 2023, a free, two-day educational update on October 10-11 in Bethesda, Maryland.
The Sickle Cell Disease Association of America plans several events, including its 10th Annual Walk with the Stars on September 16 and its National Convention on October 11-14.
