To help rare disease patients get the care they need, global biotech CSL Behring is offering the fourth annual CSL Behring Academy: Immunology, a live/virtual opportunity to hear from a roster of experts in rare conditions.
The 2023 academy for doctors on March 15-17 will be livestreamed from Zurich, Switzerland. Previous academy events have drawn 300 health care providers from 30 countries.
This year’s speakers include:
Professor Klaus Warnatz, Senior Consultant, Center for Chronic Immunodeficiency, Medical Center at the University of Freiburg in Germany. He’ll discuss diagnosing primary immunodeficiency, newly published treatment guidelines and also will participate in a session on secondary immunodeficiency.
Professor Stephen Jolles, Consultant Clinical Immunologist and Honorary professor at the University Hospital of Wales and Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales. He’ll talk about the iatrogenic causes of secondary immunodeficiency.
Professor Bruce Zuraw, an Allergist/Immunologist and Medical Professor with UC San Diego Health in the United States. He’ll cover hereditary angioedema (HAE), a condition that causes dangerous swelling episodes, prevention methods and management in special populations.
Dr. Luis Querol, the Attending Neurologist at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona, Spain. He will lead conversations about chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), a neurological condition that causes weakness in the arms and legs. Topics include current guidelines, risk factors for CIDP and the therapeutic implications of autoantibodies.
