CSL Behring in Bern, Switzerland, has made major progress on a large expansion project at its manufacturing facility. Get a look inside in this video that celebrates the latest milestones and thanks all involved for moving the project forward.
The expansion of the facility, where the company makes medicine for people with rare and serious diseases, is valued at 250 million Swiss francs ($257 million US). Called “Protinus,” which means “forward-looking, ahead,” the project will enable two new production lines to manufacture immunoglobulin products for an additional 90,000 patients a year. Officials at the Bern site are planning for a spring 2021 opening, when routine production could begin in the expanded part of the facility.
